Another area in which
most physicians and therapists are under trained is sleep
disorders. In fact, little knowledge is available from
anyone about why we sleep. Much can be done abort snoring
or sleep apnea (where one actually stops breathing and
which can be fatal). Dreams are still a mystery. We do
know sleep is closely related to our biological circadian
rhythms, allowing us to fall asleep and wake up about the
same time daily.
Negative magnetic energy
is in greater demand during wakeful periods then the brain
and earth can supply, therefore the need for sleep. Insufficient
sleep causes stress and buildup of toxins which further
interferes with proper sleep. Better sleep can usually
come about by sleeping on a negative field magnetic bed.
In this regard, an anti-stress level magnetic field has
been documented by Dr. Philpott as producing the neuro-hormone
melatonin by the pineal gland during periods of no sunlight.
Deficiency of melatonin leads to physical and emotional
disorders and development of infection and neoplasm.
Negative magnetism
at the crown of the head and mid-sternum are excellent
sleep inducers, as experienced by Dr. Philpott. more :: headboard
Unfortunately, if you have
a sleep problem, most doctors will simply prescribe sleeping
pills. Remember that insurance companies avoid paying for
sleep problems. And health maintenance organizations usually
do not have adequate facilities for testing or treating
sleep disorders; yet this is one of our most common ailments
and another failure of a highly technological but misdirected
health system. We sell billions of dollars of sleeping
pills that do not cure insomnia and in many cases cause
addiction. It is a terrible shame that millions of Americans
must rely on a bottle of pills sitting next to the bed.
It would be so much fairer if the drug manufacturers
put their money into sleep research and real cures, while
insurance companies stood up for solutions to these common
problems.
Sleep suffers often turn
to drugs. Halcion, is the world's most widely prescribed
sleeping pill with over ten million Americans using it
annually. Halcion is Upjohn Company's second best earner
at 250 million dollars a year in ninety countries (1993).
The FDA approved its use in 1982, but the Dutch withdrew
it in 1979 and Britain banned it in 1991, concluding that
the risks outweigh the benefits. Dr. Anthony Kales, Head
of Psychiatry at Penn State University Medical School stated, "This
is a very dangerous drug. No other benzodiazetine has such
a narrow margin of safety. The only justification for having
it on the market is to insure the company's profitability.
From a public health standpoint, there is no reason at
all." The FDA is reviewing it. Doctors are still prescribing
it.
Why do we continue to insist that people need drugs to sleep?
Fortunately, at least some habits are
changing. Today thousands of people are sleeping on magnetic
beds that improve sleep and even change people's lives.
Many users report the need to sleep less hours yet with
more comfort and arising more exhilarated. Since magnetic
fields tend to oxygenate the tissues more effectively and
reduce swollen tissue to open passages. Some with excellent
circulation and a high metabolism rate may not notice a
remarkable difference at first. On the other hand, subtle
changes over a period of time will normally take place
to improve sleep and provide for a healthier, more vigorous
body upon waking each day.
Dr. Dean Bonlie has
observed hundreds of clients who use magnetic beds
who have demonstrated reduced stress and better sleep
without side effects, except for the release of toxins.
He is an advocate of using only the negative polarity,
citing his own clinical research and case studies of
the many beneficial effects of negative fields alone.
In Bonlie's own case, as
stated earlier, he found he not only sleeps better by using
a magnetic bed but also has experienced elimination of
all symptoms from arthritis, or degenerative joint reversal,
but both Dr. H. L. Bansal and Dr. R. S. Bansal, of the
Indian Institute of Magnet therapy, claim extraordinary
success in relief of pain and improved muscle motion on
many patients with arthritis and diabetes. They also report
that magnet therapy cuts healing time as much as half or
more for such injuries as sprains, strains, broken bones,
and burns and cuts. Healing is also more effective, resulting
in less scar tissue and better symmetry. By eliminating
pain and stress, sleep improves naturally.
